Final Poster
This is my final poster, introducing an up-coming technology called o-fridge.
Here's what it looks like:

Who doesn’t leave a mess on their refrigerator doors? Pictures, Post-Its filled with appointments, family dinners, soccer games. A refrigerator is an important attribute to a well organized kitchen. People want theirs to be functional and aesthetically pleasing.
In 2020 refrigerators will have a pellicle of Oled material enabling them to light up when wanted. The outer layer of the refrigerator will be covered from top to bottom with an Oled screen. This screen will be able to produce light and will offer a tactile surface to write and leave pictures on. Composed of organic molecules, the light the Oled screen provides is much brighter and crisper than regular sources of light. It also reduces the usage of power and electricity. Oled is a solid-state conductor that takes almost no room at all. Its’ device is 100 to 500 nanometers thick, in other words; very thin. Oled lighting can have two or three layers. The electrons travel from the cathode to the anode through the organic layers. Advantages for using Oleds instead of other conductive materials are many. The organic layers of Oled are much thinner and more flexible than LCD. This will allow an easier manufacturing process for the making of Oled-refrigerators. Each refrigerator will have a switch that will open or close the emitting light. Many patterns will be offered when you buy the product. When tired of seeing a particular effect or design on your refrigerator, you have the chance of changing it, quickly and effectively. Instead of the traditional ‘Post-Its’ most people use to write notes on, individuals will be able to simply write on their fridge and erase it as easily.
I made a 3d refrigerator using Maya 2009. Changing the patterns on the refrigerator you can visualize what they could look like when incorporating an Oled pellicle.
I was inspired by some of these works:

Painting as a Weapon: Progressive– Hoerle – Arntz
In the aftermath of the horrors of the some of his struggles First World War, like many Germans, these artists desired social and political change. Very cubic and few details add to the simplicity of this 19th century painting.
Self-portait of William H. Johnson. Shows the struggles he's experienced. It was made in about 1929 when he came back from his first trip from Europe. He faced racial discrimination, homelessness, illness and poverty. Yet again, the figures are very simplistic. The ground contrasts with the people in the background.
High Tech Soul : The Creation of Techno Music
From the race riots of 1967 to the underground party scene of the late 1980s, Detroit’s economicdownturn didn’t stop the invention of a new kind of music that brought international attention to its producers and their hometown. The vertical lines automatically makes the viewer scan the picture from top to bottom. The red grabs the attention contrasting the black and gray background.
Tele Communicate poster for an event in Luxembourg, 1962
This is a logo crated for an airline in the 60's. Shows a bit of the cultural aspects of the time. The use of colors and graphics used. Subtle but creative.
53 Years of Latvian magazine - Jauna Gaita
This was created after the second World War when many Latvian writers were relocated to many different regions of the world. Some moved to Canada, the US and Britain. This created a new kind of publication from the emerging writers. The writers wanted to capture the influences of modernism. The colors are very vivid and show the evolution of new artistic choices. "Round and modern".
Lisa Frank Lifestyle 1980's
The big question for this was, does this make was the 'now' generation? The colors make it very appealing for the eye. The three girls bring the attention the their 'style'. Markets the product well,
1980's advertisement for Tuna Tacos
This advertisement seemed to be mostly focused on the cheerleader than the actual product. We still get a sense of the style during the period of the 80's. This picture is cut into two separate parts. The bottom half that actually gives information about the product, and the top half that show's what the product looks like.
1980's Strawberry Shortcake dolls
We all have memories of advertisments that made us want to purchase a toy when we were children. This 1980's ad is a good example of the toy market of that period. What girl of that time didn't want a Strawberry Shortcake anyways? Yet again the ad is cut into two components. This style seemed to be quite popular in the 80's.

The more I thought about it, the less I knew what pictures to post. Such a simple task, but difficult to nail. Once I shortened the word "representative", it gave me "represent". Tricky. What picture shows who I am as an individual? So I came up with a photograph of myself holding a flower. This picture might not look like anything just by looking at it, but in fact, it represents me in every way. It shows my love for nature; the fragility, passion and emotion that a flower holds within. I'm a very down-to-earth person that likes simplicity. I couldn't think of a better picture than this one to portray myself to individuals that might not know me yet.
