Points, lines and planes
This week we were introduced to points, lines and planes as being the basics of design.
- Points: Marks a position in space/ It has no mass/ It is a location/ A mass of points can create textures.
- A line: An infinite series of dots/ Connection between two points/ Lines appear at the edge of objects/ They can be straight, curved, continuous or broken/ When it reaches a certain thickness it becomes a plane
- A Plane: A flat surface/ When modified it becomes a structure/ Planes with different textiles
We were also shown examples of space and volume, linear perspective, Visual balance and tension.
